The Plating struggle.

While I have worked long and hard on making good food, I’ve come to realize that this is only half the battle. Making you food look presentable is just as, if not more, important. Too many of us are willing to heave a dollop of stew or something on a plate and call it a day, and as you can probably glean from my photos of choice, I am one of these people. During my CSCA courses, I often marveled at the instructor’s ability to make impromptu art out of the finished foodstuffs, and that style is what often spurred the student’s appetites as well as my own. Now you might say: “you’re here to eat it, not F*&k it”, but making your food look elegant creates a powerful first impression, one that ensures that your food will make it past peoples gums.

A Paella made from the combined efforts of Mom and Dad. It tasted as marvelous as it looked.
