| Here’s to springtime! |
My mother’s margarita has been the fuel that keeps the majority of our summertime parties sustained well past into what she calls “the witching hour”, which is when everyone’s favorite insects, the mosquitos, come out in droves to feed. It’s no citronella candle, but the euphoria instilled by this blend of lime, tequila, and triple sec can at least provide a decent distraction from the bloodsuckers feasting upon you. As you can imagine by this lofty description, this beverage is the primary reason why I was in such a hurry to reach drinking age.
Ingredients:
1 cup tequila
1 cup triple sec
½ cup of freshly squeezed lime juice
Ice cubes, plenty!
Take a blender, put in the liquid ingredients, fill with ice cubes to the top, and blend on the highest speed until it looks slushy. Fill into large glasses with drinking straws and enjoy!
Note: ready-made Margarita mix will not work in this recipe (thank god).
